Moms Become Superheroes at Pixels of Fury Chicago 2019

Pixels of Fury opens the 2019 season with a super-charged Mother’s Day themed challenge.

Another exciting season of Pixels of Fury has begun with the traditional kick-off in Chicago. The first competition of 2019 visited the midwest to deliver a timely springtime challenge: to design a superhero Mom. With Mother’s Day right around the corner, six Chicago-area designers set about to show off their creative chops – and honor the Moms in their life.

The designers competed in super-charged 20 minutes rounds to show what Moms mean to them – and to win the furious gold pixel. From classic comic book interpretations to an environmentalist take on Mother’s Day, these designs show that not all moms wear capes, but some do wear masks!

In a very close Round 1, Noah Brennan’s masked moms design beat out Joseph Klome’s with just seconds left in the voting. He met his Final Round competitor in Chase Wood, who won Round 2 with a moms-can-do-it-all message (and another mask!). The two faced off for a chance to win it all.
